Day 5 | Johnson Shut-Ins State Park

After a 30 degree night of camping students wake up feeling chipper and ready for their seven a.m. wake up call. After a quick breakfast we head to the Elephant Rocks and spend the afternoon at the Johnson Shut-Ins.

The students start the day warm and alert after a frigid night of camping.

Taylor finds the perfect walking stick on a hike to the elephant rocks.

Students get daring and climb the elephant rocks, some scaling over 27 feet.

After a tiring morning at the Elephant rocks students take quick naps after lunch to soak up the sun before a plant quiz.

A group of students present to the class over the igneous cliff region.

On a plant walk, a student takes advantage of one of mother nature's pizza toppings.

After a plant transect the class heads to the shut-ins to climb and explore.

Students enjoy a bit of free time on the shut-ins.

Some students have an impromptu Jedi battle on the shuts ins.

Tyson takes a relaxing lounge on one of the shut ins.

Nanqi and Jiahuan sit back and enjoy the view.

Blake gets adventurous and goes for a big leap across the water.

Two students swear they see gold and have to lower each other in to make sure...

Overall, not a bad day here on Savanna Studio.
